It may be that you are new to the area, have not been to see a dentist in a long while, or just want a change. Whatever your reason, we at Cwmbran Dental Care understand the importance of finding the right dental practice, one where you feel relaxed and the dental team puts you at your ease, as well as providing you with excellent dental care.
Our aim is for you to have the best possible experience, from the moment you contact us, with no hidden surprises along the way. Surveys carried out amongst our existing patients, state that 100% of them are happy to recommend us to family or friends.
We welcome new private patients to our practice. So just get in touch and let one of our friendly team members know how we can help you.
Before your first visit there are a few short online forms for you to complete, including a medical history form. These are important for us to ensure that we provide you with the safest and very best possible care. Alternatively you could do this in the practice while you relax with a tea or coffee, if you prefer.
At your first visit we like to find out about you and your oral health. By asking about your dental history we can get a good understanding of what your teeth have been through. We also take the opportunity to chat through any issues and concerns you may have.
You will have a thorough clinical examination where we look at your head, neck and inside your mouth. We assess your complete oral health by closely checking the condition of your throat, tongue, cheeks, palate and gums as well as your teeth. Every examination includes a check for mouth cancer. We take some digital X-rays, which are very quick and easy to do, with the results being almost immediate. They allow us to see inside your teeth and the bone that surrounds them.
We carry out a risk assessment, which highlights specific areas of dental need you may have and then explain the findings to you. If you require treatment, we discuss all the options, ensuring you understand them and answer any questions you may have. A bespoke Treatment Plan is then done for you, which outlines the treatment agreed and costs involved. You will be given an estimate of the number and length of appointments required to complete your treatment. Finally our receptionist will go through the various payment options with you and make your next appointment.
Life doesn’t always go to plan, and emergency toothaches and accidents do happen, where you need to see a dentist urgently. So here at Cwmbran Dental Care we have daily emergency appointment slots available for our regular patients. You will need to get in contact as soon and as early in the day as possible, to ensure you are seen on the same day, but if not we will endeavour to see you within 24 hours.
